Ultra VPL™ , the Lumenis Quantum SR, and the Palomar StarLux

All three systems feature the same ability to vary the number of pulses, individual pulse duration, and the delay between pulses.

The Lumenis Quantum SR compares almost identically in terms of specifications to the ULTRA VPL ™, but there is a BIG price difference! The Lumenis product sells for $75,000.00 and ours is $65,750.00.

The Palomar StarLux specifications are very similar as well; however, the StarLux is underpowered when compared to the ULTRA VPL™ in that they can only achieve 50 J/cm2 with an applicator that is 12 mm x 28 mm - 1/2 the size of the ULTRA’s (so twice the number of shots required). The larger StarLux applicators are considerably less powerful.

Note that the applicators that have high power are the small spot sizes ! There are 7 total.

Power output in the upper 30 to mid 40 J/cm2 range is essential to many treatments (like light colored hair and veins)! Imagine doing an entire leg or back with a 12 x 28 mm spot size!
